Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Registered Nurse
Location: Seattle, Washington

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a level two trauma, tertiary medical center with a large endoscopy department (19 admit/discharge rooms, 9 procedure rooms including a manometry room).
- Patient population includes ambulatory and hospitalized patients of all ages (pediatrics to geriatric) with complex GI diseases.
- Unit mix: 30% inpatient, 70% outpatient, 10% pediatrics.
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM).
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
- Float required: Must be willing to float to other Providence facilities within a reasonable distance.
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Endoscopy/GI Lab.
- Preferred experience with moderate sedation and technical endoscopy procedures.
- Advanced therapeutic Endoscopy RN experience preferred.
- First-time travelers accepted.
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Certifications must be from AHA (Instructor, Provider, or RQI) or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation equivalents.
Licensure
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Washington State.
- Washington compact license accepted for Swedish facilities.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declinations accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
- 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable with attestation).
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates.
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including SSN trace, death master index, sex offender registry, education verification, and others as applicable.
- WA State Patrol Search required within 90 days of start for Washington placements, updated every 2 years for certain facility types.
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment.
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
Training & Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Competency exams required by specialty.
- Facility and specialty-specific WorkRamp modules and regulatory training must be completed annually.
- Epic training modules completion may be required depending on region and facility.
- Color blindness testing if specifically requested.
Additional Notes
- Float Policy Acknowledgement required; may be asked to float to other facilities.
- Passport-style badge photo required for badge issuance (facility-specific).
- Travel candidates have a 4-day return-to-office (RTO) policy; longer RTO requires manager approval.
- Candidates with international nursing education must provide transcripts/diplomas and may require additional education verification.
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State.
- Minimum of 1 year of Endoscopy experience within the last year.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
