Job Opportunity: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)

Location: Abilene, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work with general/all patient populations, including NICU experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty.
  • Will accept Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
  • First-time travelers may be considered, but prior travel experience is strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Texas.
  • Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • I9 or attestation form.
  • Background checks including:
    • 7-year background check updated annually.
    • Federal and state-specific checks (e.g., EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG).
  • Education verification (transcript or diploma).
  • State license verification within 30 days of start.
  • NURSYS verification for Respiratory Therapists.
  • Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments to be reviewed and signed prior to start.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
  • Fit mask test (3M 1860 Regular or 3M 1860S), updated annually.
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
    • Required vaccinations or positive titers for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
    • Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (with possible exemptions).
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen including THC within 10 business days prior to start; no pending results allowed.
  • Pass/fail testing for Telemetry nurses (if applicable).
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
  • Color blindness testing (online acceptable).

Additional Information

  • Orientation includes mandatory modules (~3-4 hours).
  • Parking available during orientation and employment.
  • Multiple facility-specific acknowledgments and compliance forms required before start.
  • Two professional references required within 3 years of start.
  • Resume or employment application required.
  • Skills checklist updated annually.
