Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Worcester, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:45 - 7:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Must be able to circulate C-sections
- Previous EPIC experience required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- AWHONN certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background Check:
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start covering all counties lived/worked
- Includes SSN trace, national criminal search, NSOR, OIG, education verification (highest completed education)
- Statewide Massachusetts iCORI clearance required within 30 days prior to start
- Education Verification: 3rd party verification of highest completed education or transcript with graduation date
- NURSYS verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Physical Exam: Required within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness without restrictions
- Drug Testing: Required within 30 days of start, including standard drug panels
- Immunizations/Vaccinations or Declinations (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, Maternity, NICU where noted):
- COVID-19 (most recent vaccine or facility-specific declination)
- Flu seasonal vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (3-dose series, reactive titer, or declination with documentation)
- TB Testing:
- Two PPDs (1 within 90 days, 1 within 1 year) or QuantiFERON/T-Spot within 90 days
- If positive, chest X-ray within 5 years plus facility-specific TB questionnaire and physician release
- References: Two references within three years of start
- Employment Application: Must include 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Skills Checklist: Required prior to start and updated annually as applicable
Additional Notes
- Study materials will be provided for medication and telemetry exams during orientation
- Telemetry exam is not required for OR, Psychiatry, Mother-Baby/Postpartum, and NICU units
- Candidates must achieve a minimum score of 80% on exams on the first day of orientation
- Locals are eligible for the same bill rate as travelers
- Valid government-issued ID required
- Compliance with facility-specific declination policies is mandatory
This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs with strong clinical skills, prior EPIC experience, and readiness to comply with strict orientation testing and licensing requirements.
