Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Schedule:

  • 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (4x10)
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week
  • Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW) and Every Other Holiday (EOH)
• Floating: Required as per facility needs
• Locals Accepted: Yes, at a lower rate

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year in specialty
• Recent Experience: Required within the last year
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Licensure & Certifications

• License: New York State RN license required (or application in process)
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA approved
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA approved

Orientation & Testing

• Pass/fail telemetry assessment on first day of orientation (80% minimum score) for cardiac rhythm interpretation, if applicable to unit
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
• Various competency exams required as applicable to specialty

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start
• Primary source verification of license and certifications prior to start
• Review and sign facility-specific documents including:

  • Code of Conduct
  • Patient Abuse Reporting
  • Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement
  • Orientation Packet Acknowledgement
  • Automated Dispensing Cabinet Security (for Pyxis access)
• Annual Tuberculosis screening questionnaire required

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, signed by licensed provider
• Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually
• TDAP vaccine within last 10 years or declination
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
• Immunity or vaccination for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
• COVID vaccine records or declination

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references within 3 years of hire
• Skills checklist required
• New York State Nurse Aide Registry verification (if applicable)
• New York State Medicaid Exclusion List check

Notes

• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with application; no RTO approved after offer
• Call-out/call-off policy allows 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• If NY license is not yet obtained, candidate can be submitted if application date is provided
