Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Auburn, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Schedule:
- 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (4x10)
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW) and Every Other Holiday (EOH)
- Floating: Required as per facility needs
- Locals Accepted: Yes, at a lower rate
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year in specialty
- Recent Experience: Required within the last year
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Licensure & Certifications
- License: New York State RN license required (or application in process)
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA approved
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA approved
Orientation & Testing
- Pass/fail telemetry assessment on first day of orientation (80% minimum score) for cardiac rhythm interpretation, if applicable to unit
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
- Various competency exams required as applicable to specialty
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start
- Primary source verification of license and certifications prior to start
- Review and sign facility-specific documents including:
- Code of Conduct
- Patient Abuse Reporting
- Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement
- Orientation Packet Acknowledgement
- Automated Dispensing Cabinet Security (for Pyxis access)
- Annual Tuberculosis screening questionnaire required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, signed by licensed provider
- Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually
- TDAP vaccine within last 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
- Immunity or vaccination for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
- 9 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine records or declination
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references within 3 years of hire
- Skills checklist required
- New York State Nurse Aide Registry verification (if applicable)
- New York State Medicaid Exclusion List check
Notes
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with application; no RTO approved after offer
- Call-out/call-off policy allows 3 shifts per 13-week contract
- If NY license is not yet obtained, candidate can be submitted if application date is provided
