Job Opportunity: RRT PICU - Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Nights, 3 shifts of 12 hours each
  • No on-call required
  • Work setting: In-patient acute hospital respiratory therapy department providing full spectrum of respiratory care services
  • Experience required in either PICU or NICU
  • EPIC experience preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1.5 years of experience in specialty (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics, PICU)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider only
  • RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) license required
  • Pending Oregon state license acceptable
  • Prior travel experience not required (unit accepts first-time travelers)

Certifications & Training

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider only
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA provider only
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP only
  • Stroke CEUs required for certain units (not specifically stated for this role)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - as applicable
  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score 85% or higher)

Compliance & Screening Requirements

  • Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day
  • Background check within 6 months prior to start (includes education and work history verification)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days prior to start
  • National Sex Offender Search within 30 days prior to start
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel with methamphetamines listed, within 3 months prior to start
  • Physical exam: Required to meet Aya standard (within 1 year of start)
  • Fit mask test: Required within 1 year prior to start (N95 or equivalent)
  • Immunizations and titers required or signed declinations for:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months prior to start
  • TB questionnaire required for all candidates
  • Flu vaccination or signed declination required by 12/01/2025

Additional Requirements

  • Two (2) manager or supervisor references from employers within the last 24 months required
  • Employment application must include at least 7 years of work history with city and state for each position
  • Completion of facility-specific compliance modules prior to start (Compass modules)
  • Professional appearance policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start
  • Facility-specific documents and attestations must be reviewed and signed as required

Notes

  • This position is open to first-time travelers; prior travel experience is not required.
  • Pending Oregon license is acceptable to start.
  • No call responsibilities.
  • EPIC experience is preferred but not mandatory.
