Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) (Days)

Job Description

Work in a Level I Trauma Center with 16 OR suites, routinely running 12-14 rooms.
Patient types include Cardiac/PV, Neuro, Orthopedics (primarily trauma), Robotics, Gynecology, Urology, General, Pediatrics, and Transplants; small volume of ENT and Plastic procedures.
Expected to scrub or circulate (both preferred).
Average caseload: 35-50 cases per day with turnovers expected in less than 20 minutes.
Use of specialized equipment including 3 DaVinci robots, Stealth technology for Neuro navigation, and Synthes or Stryker for ortho trauma.
Weekend on-call coverage from end of shift Friday until 6:30 AM Monday.
Floating required across multiple campuses within the region.
Scrubs provided.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Iowa
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
At least 15 months of total travel nursing experience
Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience working with Pediatric patients
Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
Experience with Epic electronic medical record system

Work Conditions & Additional Information

Must work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed.
Orientation dates available; earlier start dates prioritized.
Overtime and holiday pay multipliers apply.
Call back and on-call pay available.
Billable overtime begins after 40 hours per week.
Patient ratio typically 1:1 in a 16-bed unit.
Local radius hiring preference within 50 miles.
Employee separation policy restricts travel assignments for certain past employees within the last 12 months.
