Registered Nurse (LDRP RN) - Longmont, Colorado

Job Details

  • Specialty: LDRP RN (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
  • Location: Longmont, Colorado
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Nights
  • Hours: 12 hours per day, approximately 36 hours per week
  • Unit: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Mother-Baby
  • Unit Size: 12 LDRP beds, 1 C-Section OR suite
  • Annual Births: Approximately 300 births per year

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of LDRP nursing experience within the last 3 years
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA
    • AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring OR Continuous Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Skills:
    • Comfortable caring for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients
    • Experience with triage
    • Comfortable circulating and recovering C-Sections
    • Ability to titrate drips such as Pitocin and Magnesium
  • Preferred: Prior travel nursing experience is preferred but not required

Scheduling & Work Requirements

  • Schedule: 7 PM to 7 AM shifts; schedule set by leadership for 6 weeks at a time
  • Flexibility: Travelers expected to help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
  • Time Off: All time off requests must be submitted before assignment start
  • Weekend Shifts: 6 to 9 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
  • Holiday: May be required to participate in holiday rotation
  • Call/Standby: Rare, only for low census situations
  • Floating: No regular floating; may float within a designated zone only in extreme need

Orientation & Additional Information

  • Orientation: 1 to 3 shifts with a preceptor
  • Dress Code: Blue hospital scrubs provided
  • Additional Notes:
    • Unit occasionally admits overflow mastectomy patients (orientation provided)
    • Clinicians must be in-state for the week of orientation, even if some modules are remote
    • Must submit a driver’s license for radius verification (60 miles)

Patient Ratios

  • 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio for laboring patients
  • 1:2 to 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio for couplets (mother and newborn)
