Required Qualifications

Active RN license
BLS certification
Acute/inpatient or hospital experience
Strong de-escalation and communication skills

Preferred

CPI certification
Adolescent experience

Unit Details

25 licensed beds
Current patient mix includes adults and adolescents
Common diagnoses include depression, anxiety, substance abuse, psychosis, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other behavioral or personality disorders
Mechanical restraints and seclusion are used rarely
No telemetry monitoring on the unit
RT is available in-house if needed
Mental health techs/aids are available
Occupational therapy and social work support are available

Schedule

Self-scheduling based on seniority
Every other weekend
Every other holiday

Orientation

2 unit-specific 12-hour shifts

Work Expectations

May float throughout the hospital as helping hands or 1:1 support
Travelers may work with adolescents one shift and adults the next
First-time travelers are accepted
Travelers are not usually expected to take a charge role
IV experience is not required

Additional Notes

Locked inpatient unit on the 4th floor
Business casual or any scrub color except maroon
Candidates should be patient and slow to anger
