Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical Admissions

Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts, rotating day (07:00-19:30) and night (19:00-07:30)
Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday; no on-call required
Unit Size: 15 beds, all private rooms
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:

• Day: 5:1
• Night: 6:1

Job Overview

• Provide initial admissions and care for general medical/surgical patients who are ready to be discharged from the ER but not yet assigned to a specific unit.
• Work in a fast-paced, busy environment on a new medical/surgical unit.
• Float to other medical/surgical units as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience.
• Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Skills and Equipment

• Use of EPIC for patient documentation.
• Communication via Zebra phones.
• Medication administration using Omnicell systems.
• Operation of Aleris IV pumps.

Additional Information

• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs.
• Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible to apply.
• Floating to other units is expected as part of the role.
