Position Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit: 12 Tower, 36-bed unit
Patient Ratios: 1:4 / 1:5
Scheduling: 4 weekend shifts required in a 4-week block
Floating: Will float over core staff

Unit & Equipment

Staffing: Secretary every day, PRN techs available
Equipment: PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, Alaris IV Pumps
Documentation System: Meditech

Patient Care & Procedures

Patient Population: Includes patients with wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, strokes, seizures; some require dialysis or PCA pumps
Post-Op Procedures: Amputations, ostomy care, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, wound vacs
Medication: Only drip used is Heparin

Certifications Required

BLS (Basic Life Support)
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Unit Policies & Guidelines

HAI prevention including CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions
Fall prevention protocols
100% medication scanning, including controlled substances
Attendance per policy
Dress Code: Scrubs in Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue

Work Environment
