Registered Nurse - ICU

Location: Smyrna, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Number of Beds: 16
Patient Ratio: 2:1
Unit Staffing: Unit tech available, secretaries present
Equipment: GE Monitors, Nova glucometers, Pyxis medication dispenser, Drager ventilators
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling: Every other weekend
Floating Policy: Rotation with full-time staff and other travelers
Patient Experience Requirements: AIDET communication, use of communication board, medication teaching
Dress Code: Charcoal gray scrubs

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Skills:
- Positive attitude, teamwork, problem solving
- Advanced skills in ventilator and sedation management, medication titration
Procedures performed on unit:
- Tracheostomy placement
- Bronchoscopy
- Cardioversion

Additional Information

Trauma Level III certification at the hospital
Unit emphasizes teamwork and advanced critical care skills
Schedule includes every other weekend shifts with floating responsibilities
