Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Portland, Maine
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Position Overview

Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Specialty: Respiratory Therapy
Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Weekend Hours: 36 (unless otherwise noted)
Call Requirements: Yes, 2 hours for the oncoming shift
Float Requirements: Must float as RRT with some NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, emergency department, adult acute and critical care

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience as an RRT (higher of 2 and 3 years required)
Certifications:
- RRT required
- BLS required
- ACLS preferred
- NRP required for NICU assignments

Unit Information

Patient Ratios:
- Acute care: 1:25
- Critical care: 1:8
Equipment Experience:
- Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators
- Hamilton T1 and C1 ventilators
- Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line
- Airvo and Vapotherm devices
EMR System: EPIC
Unit Type: Tertiary, teaching hospital, level 1 trauma center
Patient Population: Varied, including NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic preferred

Desired Skills and Attributes

Experience in tertiary care and level 1 trauma settings
Preferred experience with NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic patients
Flexible, team player with strong communication skills
