Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Service Lines: Respiratory Services NICU/Pediatrics
Unit Size:
- 51-bed Level 3 NICU
- 10-bed PICU
- 20-bed Pediatric floor
Staffing:
- 17 NICU/Peds RRTs (120 total staff)
- Day Shift: 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds
- Night Shift: 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds
Patient Ratios: 10 - 25 patients
Equipment Used:
- Draeger Infant/Peds ventilators
- HFOV
- Infant Flow SiPAP
- Newport HT70 and Hamilton T1 and C1 transport ventilators
- Vapotherm
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner

Job Responsibilities

Manage high-risk deliveries and all airway and ventilator management
Perform intubation, extubation
Collect and analyze capillary and arterial blood gases

Required Qualifications

Valid Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NBRC certification
Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory Therapy, including experience within the last year
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- HHCCA - De-escalation Skills - Healthcare Setting

Preferred Qualifications

NPS (Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist certification)

Additional Information

Floating assignments may include general adult medical floors
Dress code: Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs
Weekend shifts required: At least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
