- Number of Beds: 20
- Number of Staff: 55
- Typical Staff per Shift:
- Day Shift: Charge nurse + 10 RNs
- Night Shift: Charge nurse + 10 RNs
- Patient Ratios: 2:1 or 1:1
- Equipment Used: GE bedside monitors, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, Prismax CRRT, Tablo SLED
- Electronic Medical Record: Meditech
- Permanent Positions on Unit: Yes
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
Typical Procedures Performed
- Central line and chest tube insertion
- Bronchoscopies
- Tracheostomies
- Lumbar punctures
- Intubation
Schedule & Call Requirements
- 6 weekend shifts per schedule for night shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Work Environment & Culture
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and adaptability valued
- Dress code: Navy scrubs required
- Unit emphasizes use of advanced technology and experienced staff
