Location: Dallas, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit & Shift Details

  • Unit: MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit)
  • Shift: Weekend – Rotating
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Floating: As needed

Experience & Certification Requirements

  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years MICU/MSICU experience (highest required)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not specified / not required
  • Certifications Required:
    • Active RN license in Texas (temporary licenses not accepted)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • NIH Certification
    • CCRN preferred (not required but preferred)

Skills & Procedures

  • Must have experience with ICU equipment including ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, GE Cardiac Output monitor
  • Documentation system: Meditech (experience preferred)
  • Procedures performed on unit include:
    • Central line placements
    • Thoracentesis
    • Dialysis catheter placements
    • Cardioversions
    • Intubations
    • Other ICU procedures

Additional Unit Guidelines

  • Assignments based on acuity and skills
  • Dress Code:
    • Royal Blue Scrubs required
    • Nails must be clean and healthy; no artificial nails, gel, or similar enhancements
    • Hair must be neat, clean, and pulled back if shoulder length or longer
    • Facial hair must be clean and neatly trimmed
    • Tattoos should be covered whenever possible
    • Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited (e.g., nose rings, tongue rings)

This position is ideal for experienced MICU RNs looking for a travel assignment in a high-acuity ICU setting with rotating weekend shifts.
