Position Details

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 20
Patient Ratios: 6:1
Staffing: Tech support available on day and night shifts; Unit secretary available 7am-7pm
Equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs), Continuous Pulse Oximetry Machines, Feeding Pumps, PCA pumps, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
Floating Policy: Contract labor floats first; rotation used when multiple contract staff are scheduled
Patient Experience: Emphasis on attentive and compassionate care, bedside shift report, and involving patients and family members in care plans

Comprehensive Stroke Center
ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center
Certified Chest Pain Center

Required Qualifications

Active RN license
BLS certification
Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg nursing
Med/Surg experience with ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, perform basic wound care, and maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes

Additional Information

Dress Code: Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
Tech support and unit secretary support available to assist nursing staff
Opportunity to work with advanced medical equipment and technology in a well-recognized hospital setting
Schedule offers a consistent 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with weekend coverage requirements
