Travel RN Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Unit

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: 3rd Surgical
• Number of Beds: 27
• Staffing: 5-6 RNs and 2-3 LNAs
• Shifts:

  • Day Shift: Charge RN, RNs, LNAs, Unit Coordinator (Monday-Friday)
  • Night Shift: Charge RN, RNs, 2-3 LNAs
• Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per nurse
• Equipment: Hoyer lift, CPM (Continuous Passive Motion device), Code Cart
• EMR system used

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years experience in Medical-Surgical nursing in a hospital setting (this is the higher required experience)
• Must have Med Surg experience; candidates without this will not be considered

Preferred Experience

• 2 years experience in Med Surg, Orthopedics, or Bariatrics

Typical Procedures

• Orthopedic surgeries including knees, hips, shoulder, cervical
• Bariatric procedures

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required

Schedule

• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• On-call requirements included

• No specific scrub color required
• Floating area includes Medical Oncology
