Job Opportunity: Medical Technologist - Med Surg

Location: San Leandro, California
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Perform routine and special laboratory tests on clinical specimens to aid in diagnosis and patient monitoring.
• Conduct analyses in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation, blood bank, and microbiology.
• Perform venipuncture, finger stick, or heel stick as requested by physicians.
• Maintain accurate and current documentation of quality control, specimen handling, test analyses, and patient test results.
• Identify and correct problems affecting test performance or notify supervisors immediately.
• Follow established corrective action policies when test systems deviate from performance standards.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years recent Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) experience in a hospital setting.
• Valid California CLS license.
