Job Opportunity: RN - Oncology (Travel)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 26 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit: K9A - Oncology/Women’s Surgical
  • Number of Beds: 24
  • Number of Staff: 42
  • Shift Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 1 CNC, 4-6 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1 HUC
    • Night Shift: 1 CNC, 4-6 RNs, 2 CNAs
  • Patient Ratios: 1:4 or 1:5
  • Equipment: Standard unit equipment
  • EMR System: Cerner

Job Description

  • Typical Procedures: Occasional pelvic exams, echo, thoracentesis
  • Floating Area(s): Other med-surg units (team rarely floats)
  • Dress Code:
    • RNs: Navy, white, or combination of both
    • CNAs: Galaxy Blue
  • Call Requirements: Rare call; staff required to work 6 weekend days per schedule

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • Oncology experience with a minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Oncology experience within the last year
  • BLS certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
