Travel RN Opportunity - Asheville, North Carolina

Unit Information

Unit: A3 West Med Surg Telemetry
Number of Beds: 38
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge RN, 6-7 RNs, 1 LPN, 3 PCTs, 1 unit secretary
- Night Shift: 1 charge RN, 6 RNs, 1 LPN, 2-3 PCTs, HUC part-time
Patient Ratios:
- Day: 6:1 (goal for charge nurse to assist)
- Night: 7:1
Equipment: Baxter IV pumps, wound vacs, SCDs, prima-fits, primo-fits
EMR System: Cerner Powerchart

Required Skills & Experience

Must Have:
- Medical/surgical nursing experience
- Telemetry experience
Preferred:
- Charge nurse experience

Typical Procedures

Peripheral IV starts
Dressing changes
Other standard medical-surgical nursing skills

Personality Fit

Team player
Positive attitude
Willingness to help others without being asked

Certifications Required

Floating Assignments

Other medical surgical units
ED holding medical/surgical patients

Dress Code

Scrubs: all navy, all white, or white top with navy pants
Undershirts: navy or white if needed

Unit Policies

Travelers float before permanent staff

Schedule

Weekends: every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
