Travel assignment in Winchester, Virginia
Specialty: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer
Weekly hours: 36
Shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Orientation: First week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Weekend requirement: Every Saturday
On-call: None

Required Qualifications

Ultrasound Technologist (2 years of experience)
Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
BLS
ARRT (RDMS AB)
Experience in a(n) Outpatient setting
Experience with Epic

Clinical Experience

Required outpatient experience
Required ultrasound procedure experience in general, abdomen, OB/Gyn, renal/pelvis, and small parts
Required vascular procedure experience in Doppler studies, upper/lower extremity venous, and M-Mode

Preferred Experience

Inpatient, ER, Level 1 Trauma, Neonate, and NICU experience
Peripheral vascular and renal artery duplex experience
Siemens and Acuson equipment experience
ARRT (RDMS OB) certification preferred

Work Setting

Provides ultrasound services in an outpatient radiology department
Daily caseload: 10–15 patients
Patient age groups: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

Pros

Everyone has been very helpful and kind. The hospital is clean and pretty easy to navigate to rooms and floors. It's in a good location.

Cons

Not a whole lot of short term homes for rent but some nice hotels and rooms for rent. Not a lot of things to do during off time but DC and Shenandoah Park are a short drive. So are a lot of caverns.
