Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

Level 2 Trauma Center with 4 critical care bays
Emergency Department (ED) setting
Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
Patient ratio approximately 1:4
Equipment includes ultrasound, bladder scanner, neuro tele computer, Care Aware handheld devices
Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems: Omnicell, Cerner FirstNet, SBAR
Teleneurology support for stroke in cooperation with a major hospital
No Pediatric ICU on site; pediatric critical patients are transferred out

Weekend Hours: No guaranteed weekends off; fair scheduling efforts made
Call Requirements: None
Float Requirements: Travelers required to float to ED Holding area
Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Maine
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Wide range of diagnoses and treatments across all age groups
Facility serves an economically depressed area
Designated Chest Pain Center and Primary Stroke Center
Pediatric patients comprise approximately 5% of the patient population
