Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Travel Assignment)
Location: Lewiston, Maine
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Overview
- Level 2 Trauma Center with 4 critical care bays
- Emergency Department (ED) setting
- Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Patient ratio approximately 1:4
- Equipment includes ultrasound, bladder scanner, neuro tele computer, Care Aware handheld devices
- Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems: Omnicell, Cerner FirstNet, SBAR
- Teleneurology support for stroke in cooperation with a major hospital
- No Pediatric ICU on site; pediatric critical patients are transferred out

- Role: Registered Nurse (RN)

- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: No guaranteed weekends off; fair scheduling efforts made
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: Travelers required to float to ED Holding area
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maine
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- Wide range of diagnoses and treatments across all age groups
- Facility serves an economically depressed area
- Designated Chest Pain Center and Primary Stroke Center
- Pediatric patients comprise approximately 5% of the patient population
