Radiation Therapist Travel Opportunity
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Overview
- Radiation Oncology unit treating approximately 45-55 patients per day on 2 linear accelerators (linacs)
- Patient ratio: 2 radiation therapists per machine
- Staffing includes therapists, dosimetrists, physicists, RNs, dietitian, social worker, and director
- Equipment: 2 TrueBeam linear accelerators (latest installed 1 month ago), GE CT Simulator, Elekta HDR
- Documentation system: ARIA
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to approximately 4:00-4:30 PM
- No floating required
- Patient experience scores around 95% (Press Ganey)
- Accredited by ACR for radiation oncology, Commission on Cancer, and NAPBC
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in Virginia
- Minimum 3 years of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT (T) Certification
- AART membership
- BLS Certification
Procedures Performed
- VMAT (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy)
- SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy)
- Surface Guidance Radiation Therapy
Work Environment & Dress Code
- Uniform: Caribbean blue scrubs
- Team recognized for advanced technology and experienced staff
- First TrueBeam installed in 2017; newest TrueBeam installed recently
