Radiation Therapist Travel Opportunity

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Overview

  • Radiation Oncology unit treating approximately 45-55 patients per day on 2 linear accelerators (linacs)
  • Patient ratio: 2 radiation therapists per machine
  • Staffing includes therapists, dosimetrists, physicists, RNs, dietitian, social worker, and director
  • Equipment: 2 TrueBeam linear accelerators (latest installed 1 month ago), GE CT Simulator, Elekta HDR
  • Documentation system: ARIA
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to approximately 4:00-4:30 PM
  • No floating required
  • Patient experience scores around 95% (Press Ganey)
  • Accredited by ACR for radiation oncology, Commission on Cancer, and NAPBC

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in Virginia
  • Minimum 3 years of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ARRT (T) Certification
  • AART membership
  • BLS Certification

Procedures Performed

  • VMAT (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy)
  • SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy)
  • Surface Guidance Radiation Therapy

Work Environment & Dress Code

  • Uniform: Caribbean blue scrubs
  • Team recognized for advanced technology and experienced staff
  • First TrueBeam installed in 2017; newest TrueBeam installed recently
