Registered Nurse (RN) - NICU Travel Position

Location: Lewiston, Maine
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 36

Unit and Patient Population

• Level III Trauma Center
• Unit: Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP)
• Number of Beds: 24
• Patient Ratios: 1:6 (unit census ranges from 3 to 24 patients)
• Patient Population: Neonates and Adults
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments: Obstetrical triage, use of External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maine
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP), including experience within the last year
• Experience in Labor and Delivery (L&D)
• Experience in Postpartum (PP) care
• Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience
• Experience managing a couplet assignment
• Certifications:

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Preferred Qualifications

• AWHONN Intermediate certification
• Experience in Level 1 Nursery, Mother/Baby care, and circulating for C-sections

• Equipment used: EFM, IV pumps
• Electronic Health Records: Cerner, PowerChart, Omnicell Medication System
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
