Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Three 12-hour shifts, typically 5:00 PM – 1:30 AM
Hours per Week: 36
On Call: Required, averaging 5-6 weekday shifts and 1 weekend shift per 4 weeks
Unit Information
- Operating Room with 11 OR beds
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- Staff on day shift: ~8 RNs, 8 Scrub Techs, 5 Surgical Support Techs
- Staff on night shift: 1 charge RN and 1 scrub tech in-house with call team backup
- Equipment includes a variety of OR beds and robotic systems (DaVinci Xi)
- EMR system: Epic
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
- NBSTSA certification required
- BLS certification required
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional experience with a variety of Xi robotic cases (GYN, colorectal, general surgery)
Typical Procedures
- Total joint replacements
- Multi-level spine fusions
- Robotic-assisted surgeries (DaVinci Xi)
- Limited ENT, dental, eye, or plastic surgery cases
Work Environment & Culture
- Positive outlook and willingness to collaborate with team members is highly valued
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
