Job Opportunity: Surgical Technologist

Location: Rochester, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

  • Assist surgical team by handling instruments, supplies, and equipment during general surgical procedures.
  • Prepare operating room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to surgery type.
  • Ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment; report repairs as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized operating room environment.
  • Provide comfort and support to pre-operative patients with sensitivity to their care and privacy.
  • Assist Registered Nurse with admitting, transferring, and discharging patients in the OR.
  • Participate in department education, audits, and governance changes.
  • May train or precept new Surgical Technologists.
  • Respond to emergent situations following established procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of experience within the last year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience preferred (if higher than minimum).
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification is not required.

Work Environment & Additional Information

  • Work under supervision of Registered Nurse and surgical team members.
  • Follow departmental policies, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Participate in supply management and assist leadership with inventory adjustments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and department information.

Shift & Interview Details

  • Interview required prior to offer.
  • Interview scheduling will be coordinated by the staffing team.
