Role Summary

• Provides direct patient care on the unit, including rounds, assessments, treatments, admissions, transfers, discharges, patient and family education, and care coordination.
• Uses the nursing process, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice to support patient-centered care.

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments within RN scope of practice
• Uses nursing process, clinical judgment, and care coordination in patient care

Key Responsibilities

• Documents assessments and ongoing patient responses to care
• Prioritizes care for multiple patients and manages workload based on acuity
• Delegates and oversees patient care tasks performed by team members
• Supports discharge planning and discharge teaching
• Participates in unit-based activities and quality improvement efforts
