Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Illinois
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (3 years of experience)
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
PALS issued by American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Pediatric Med Surg experience

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Role Summary

Staff Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for a group of patients for a designated time frame
Works collaboratively with Pediatric Intensivists and Pediatric Hospitalists
Provides care to pediatric ICU / Pediatric Advanced Care and Pediatric Med/Surg patients

Key Responsibilities

Completes patient assessments and develops plans of care
Implements and modifies nursing interventions and patient care procedures
Documents nursing care accurately
Monitors intake and output
Changes dressings, inserts catheters, and starts IVs
Administers medications using bar code scanning
Notifies the appropriate provider of high alert lab results
Reports suspected abuse/neglect cases as mandated
Communicates with patients and families through hourly rounding, bedside report, and whiteboard updates
Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to support quality outcomes
