Required Qualifications

  • Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
  • 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • High school diploma or GED
  • BLS
  • ARDMS

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound examinations under physician direction
  • Verify patient identity and orders, prepare patients for exams, and provide patient education
  • Perform exams per department protocol, review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, and complete studies within acceptable time limits
  • Assist and instruct students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment
  • Practice infection control and sterile techniques
  • Operate equipment and related information systems
  • Maintain records and documentation, including medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and equipment failure reporting
  • Perform vascular procedures
  • Respond to emergency situations
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a team
