Functions as a member of the surgical team under the direction of the registered nurse, performing scrub functions and supporting perioperative care.

Performs operative procedure support, including draping, instrumentation, suture, equipment handling, room setup, counting required items, anticipating surgeon needs, and preparing for emergency situations
Maintains aseptic technique, including gowning, gloving, sterilization, disinfection, medication handling on the sterile field, and proper sharps disposal
Supports unit activities, teamwork, orientation of new staff or students, preference card updates, and ongoing OR learning
Participates in required safety training and follows National Patient Safety Goals and AORN Guidelines
Supports positive customer relations and responds to customer needs and requests
