Job Description

Provide nursing care under general supervision to pediatric oncology patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex. Responsibilities include:

• Managing an assigned group of patients.
• Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments.
• Assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary.
• Administering prescribed medications.
• Initiating, regulating, and monitoring IV infusions and blood products.
• Delivering competent patient care.
• Communicating care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
• Informing patients and families about hospital procedures.
• Referring patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
• Delegating tasks to support staff.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.

Education Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program (required).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher (preferred).

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association.
• APHON Chemotherapy certification.
• Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association.

• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
