Cardiac Sonographer

Role

Cardiac Sonographer in the Echocardiography department.

Location

Omaha, Nebraska

Contract

13 weeks

Schedule

8-hour day shifts; call as needed

Required Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program performing all types of cardiac ultrasound in a health care environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to accomplish tasks that require self-direction
  • AHA Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification
  • Prior cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound experience in a health care environment
  • Minimum of 3 solid years of cardiac sonographer experience; 2 years may be considered if the candidate has been at an academic teaching hospital
  • Minimum 2 years of travel experience; candidates with this being their first assignment will not be considered
  • Registered in cardiac ultrasound (ARDMS; RCS via CCI is acceptable)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 18 years of age or older
  • Associate's degree from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program performing all types of cardiac ultrasound in a health care environment
  • Demonstrate ability to think deductively and make clinical decisions accordingly
  • Experience with typical office equipment such as telephone, fax machine, copy machine, and calculator
  • Experience with ultrasound equipment, transesophageal transducers, research computer systems, centricity hospital information system, and digital echo storage system
  • Demonstrate knowledge of principles and function of the cardiovascular system and vascular circulatory system, including physics and blood flow hemodynamics
