Respiratory Therapist - West Valley, Utah

Job Details

• Location: West Valley, Utah (Salt Lake City area)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• On-call: Ability to provide on-call coverage outside of scheduled hours (6pm-6am; every other weekend)
• Orientation: Week of orientation requires being in-state, even if some modules are remote
• Work Hours: May include standard shifts, flexible hours before/after shifts, and possible overtime exceeding 40 hours per week

Job Description

• Perform patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and revise therapy plans as needed
• Conduct diagnostic testing including arterial blood gases (ABGs), pulmonary function tests (PFTs), EKGs, cardiac monitoring, bronchoscopy assistance, and pulse oximetry
• Transport patients within the hospital or between facilities

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program (CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP)
• Current certification as Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience preferred
• Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
