Registered Nurse - MICU (Travel/Contract)

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
Hours per Week: 36

Unit & Patient Care Details

High acuity unit with COVID care and pronation therapy
Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) dialysis required
Special procedures include pronation therapy and vasopressor titrations
Float requirement applies
Epic electronic health record experience required (preferred but strongly recommended)

Required Certifications

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or RQI accepted; renewal required if expiring within 30 days of start
BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or RQI accepted; renewal required if expiring within 30 days of start

Preferred (not required):

CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
Current ACLS certification
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
Experience with pronation therapy
Experience using Epic electronic health record system

Pros

Staff are very nice and I have been given very reasonable assignments for the most part. Management and providers are very approachable and always willing to help!

Cons

Floated about every other shift but people have been super accommodating and kind!
