Respiratory Therapist, NICU

Overview

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
Weekly hours: 36
Contract length: 13 weeks
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
Floating: Between pediatric units and NICU; may also float to adult units on the main campus
First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey
Respiratory Therapist (1.5 years of experience)
Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NBRC
1.5 or more years of PICU/NICU experience
Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU experience

Certifications to Obtain Onsite

ACLS
PALS
NRP

Key Responsibilities

Respiratory care for neonatal critical care and pediatric patients
Blood gas collection
Ventilator, BiPAP, and high-flow initiation and management
Code response
In-house transport
Medication administration
Chest physiotherapy

Additional Notes

Time off must be submitted with the application and approved before an offer is made
EPIC is used for charting
