Job Details
- Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1900 - 0730)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Patient Ratio: Typically 4:1 (based on acuity)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- First-time Travelers: Accepted

- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week; facility may call off up to 6 shifts during the 13-week assignment

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Arizona
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions
- Fit mask (N95) within 1 year, updated annually; PAPR not an option except in rare department-approved cases
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred within last 10 years or declination)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella – positive titer or proof of 2 vaccines
- Hepatitis B – positive titer, 3-dose vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella – positive titer or proof of 2 vaccines
- Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or Tspot) within 1 year, updated annually; chest x-ray and TB questionnaire required for past positives
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination form; mask required if declined
- COVID vaccination series or signed declination form
- Drug screening: 10-panel urine test within 30 days of start, updated annually
Documentation and Background Checks
- Employment application covering last 3 years with documented gaps over 30 days
- Two professional references (one from most recent employer within 1 year, second within 2 years)
- Background checks including 7-year criminal search, SSN trace, sex offender search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start
- Education verification required (diploma or transcripts acceptable if verification pending)
- Fingerprinting not required for this specialty
- Security question form, confidentiality agreement, substance abuse screening policy, and facility-specific job description form must be completed prior to start
- Photo for badge required (clear headshot preferred)
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 1 year of start, minimum 80% score
- Core competencies (Parts I, II, III) updated annually with minimum 80% score (not required for non-clinical roles)
- Fall prevention competency exam required for all RNs starting 9/8/2025, with up to 3 attempts allowed
- Color blindness testing required for all candidates starting 1/19/2026, 100% passing score
