Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - York, Pennsylvania


Position Details

  • Job Title: Registered Nurse
  • Location: York, Pennsylvania
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 - 7:15)
  • Schedule: Every third weekend and holidays as needed
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Hours per Week: 36 hours
  • Floating: May be asked to float to rehab as needed
  • Patient Population: May care for COVID-19 patients
  • Facility Environment: Tobacco and fragrance-free facility

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification (current)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start (must be finalized prior to start)
  • PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
  • Employment and professional references: 2 professional references within 3 years
  • Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts required
  • Employment application or most recent resume required

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; PPD not accepted
  • Vaccinations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series plus declination form)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season or valid medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption/declination accepted
  • Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start, renewed annually
  • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year (requirement for agency only, not facility)

Competency and Testing

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required within 72 hours of contract signing
  • Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required within 48 hours of contract signing

Facility-Specific Documents and Training

  • Clear, passport-style photo for badge
  • Review and sign facility documents including:
    • Commitment to Health & Wellness
    • Code of Conduct
    • Confidentiality Agreement
    • Non-Employee Affidavit
  • Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop prior to start (not accessible via cell phone)
  • New hire orientation required by end of first day

  • Return to Office (RTO) requirement: maximum 7 days
  • Candidate will undergo clinical screening and manager interview before final approval
  • Candidate must notify agency if unable to comply with tobacco/fragrance-free policy

Pros

Loved the people! Found them really easy to work with and they have a lot of very knowledgeable staff members. As long as you know what you’re doing and willing to help out in any way they are more than happy to work with you!

Cons

Sometimes the schedule can be confusing with rotating shifts and call schedules that don’t align well with your scheduled shifts. But again if there is a major concern they’ll try and work with you on it!
