Medical Surgical - Neuro

Overview

Travel/Contract role in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
12-hour night shifts.
36 or 48 hours per week.
Contract length: 13 weeks.
Ratio: 1:6.
Locals are accepted.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina.
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience).
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
2 or more completed travel assignments.
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
NIHSS.
IV Start capability.
Management of dysrhythmias.
Must work every other weekend.

Preferred Qualifications

ACLS.

Unit Details

Primarily cares for stroke patients.
Also cares for possible neurosurgery patients and other neuro diagnoses, including epilepsy and traumatic/non-traumatic subdural hematomas.
4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU).
42 daily census.
43 rooms/beds.

Float Scope

Floating is required to other MS/Tele areas and may include COVID care units.

Scheduling

Preferred scheduling.
Block scheduling is not always guaranteed.

Orientation

36 hours.
