Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP (from 5/18)
• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 - 07:15)
• Hours per week: 36
• Charge shifts: Approximately 2-4 per month, occasionally covering weekend nights (Friday and/or Saturday)
• Weekend requirement: Yes, flexibility expected; Sunday night is not considered a weekend shift
• On-call: No
• Floating: No
• Block schedule: Not accommodated; flexibility required
• Local candidates accepted; no local radius rule
• Maximum return-to-office (RTO) restriction: no more than 6 days
• Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2-week pay period

Unit and Patient Population

• 25-bed Level 1 Trauma Center
• Level 1 trauma and Neuro experience required
• Heavy focus on Orthopedics, Spine, and Neuro cases
• No Cardiac or Transplant cases
• Cases per shift: 60-70
• Medication system: Pyxis

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Neurology experience

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check required within 45 days of start, including nationwide and sex offender searches
• Education verification required
• WA WATCH search required
• Drug screening within past 12 months required (Aya requirement, not facility)
• Physical exam within 1 year required by Aya (not by facility)
• Mask fit test within 12 months required (specific mask models)
• Various health documents and immunizations required or declination forms accepted:

  • Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD within 90 days)
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccines
  • Hepatitis B titer or declination
  • Varicella titer or vaccines
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccination or declination (for tracking)
• Two professional references required

Facility and Orientation

• Magnet, Teaching, Level 1 Trauma facility
• Total staffed beds: 500
• Charting system: Epic
• Scrub color: Provided by facility
• Parking: Onsite parking available with fees; offsite parking with shuttle service on weekdays
• Orientation includes online modules and onsite testing; must be completed before start
• Badge photo required (professional quality, waist up, no hats, simple background)
• Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be signed prior to or at orientation

• No floating outside scope of practice
• Facility does not consider Sunday night a weekend shift
• Charge shifts pay bump available
