Behavioral Health Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Manchester, New Hampshire
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Behavioral Health)
- Location: Manchester, New Hampshire
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shift, 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Average Daily Census: 25 patients
- Call Requirement: None
- Float Requirement: Every other week; may float to adult behavioral health and other units as needed
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
- Unit Type: Locked psychiatric unit with involuntary patients accepted; includes seclusion room and 15-minute safety checks/1:1 observation when appropriate
- Patient Diagnoses: Psychosis, Dementia (with and without behavioral disturbances), Bipolar disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Mood disorders, and other acute psychiatric illnesses with cognitive impairment
- Unit Layout: Split into Psychiatric Unit and Behavioral Unit based on patient cognitive ability and group participation
Required Skills and Experience
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
- Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience within the last year
- One completed travel nursing assignment
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience working with geriatric patients, including geriatric psych inpatient unit experience
- Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) nursing experience
