Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies and protocols. The RN responds to life-threatening situations with appropriate interventions and organizes care delivery by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, evaluating, and communicating with providers and leaders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN licensure in Idaho
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
Essential Job Functions
- Apply the Nursing Process for patients across all age groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
- Thorough documentation following regulatory and hospital requirements
- Maintain clinical competencies and professional development
- Practice clinical skills in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good judgment, patience, and adherence to best patient care practices
- Ability to work in a busy, stressful environment with changing patient safety requirements
- Proficiency with computer software: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Electronic Medical Records
- Strong organizational and workload management skills
- Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Advanced math skills, creativity, problem analysis, teamwork, and decision-making

Required Documentation and Compliance
- I9 verification
- Driver’s License or State ID
- E-Verify
- 7-year Background Check (including SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide, Sex Offender, Education Verification)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education Verification (transcript or diploma acceptable if verification pending)
- Fingerprinting (for New Mexico placements only)
- State License Verification (Primary source)
- NURSYS Verification for RN licensure
- Photo for badge
- Physical Exam within 12 months
- Fit Mask Test within 1 year (annual renewal required)
- Immunizations and Health Documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
- TB Questionnaire (if applicable)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history required
- Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen (within 90 days)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
Testing and Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% passing or Angoff score)
- Color Blind Testing (online)
- Competency Exams as applicable (minimum 80% passing or Angoff score)
- Annual Core Testing for Subs (if applicable)
Additional Notes
- 100-mile radius rule applies: candidates living within 100 miles are not eligible
- Must be able to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
