Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialist

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in acute care, preferably in a similar specialty
• Must hold a current Ohio RRT license at time of submission
• NBRC certification required
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA RQI acceptable but non-RQI preferred)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for RRTs working in Emergency Department
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required for RRT-NICU specialty
• Must have all work history, including any Cleveland Clinic positions, documented in profile

Work Schedule & Duties

• 8 or 12 week assignments available (this position is 12 weeks)
• Weekends as needed
• May float to other Cleveland Clinic facilities as required

Compliance & Documentation

• Valid government-issued photo ID must be carried on assignment
• Criminal background check required prior to start; must be updated if break in service exceeds 2 months
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Transcript/Diploma verification required
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start; must be completed prior to badge issuance
• Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually
• HIPAA acknowledgment form required and must be updated annually
• Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• Fit mask test required within 12 months of start and updated annually (specific approved mask models)
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold/T-Spot) within 6 months of start, renewed annually; chest x-ray required if prior positive TB test
• Immunization or titer documentation required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (or signed declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative 10-panel + Nicotine drug screen within 12 months of start, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31); no declinations accepted
• Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references required

Onboarding & Training

• Completion of Cleveland Clinic online training modules (4-5 hours) required prior to orientation; must be completed on a computer using Chrome browser
• Badge pickup required prior to start, after completion of all modules and fingerprinting
• I9/E-Verify attestation required for all candidates

Additional Notes

• Candidates working with pediatric patients (RRT-NICU) will complete fingerprinting onsite as part of onboarding
• Fingerprinting results must be cleared before onboarding can be completed
• Candidates must communicate all return-to-office (RTO) and scheduling requests during submission and interview
