Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: 09:00 AM – 09:30 PM

Job Summary

Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department (ED).
Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient needs and priorities.
Safely, rapidly, and accurately triage every patient entering the emergency care system.
Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as needed.
Support unit preparation for an Epic EMR system go-live.
Must self-study telemetry strips before starting; a basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to continue working in the ED.
May be placed on call occasionally during low census periods; if called in, must respond and arrive on-site within one hour.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Iowa
Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Current CPI or MOAB certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with Epic EMR system
