Job Opportunity: Level 2B Nursery RN

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Level 2B
• Unit: Special Care Nursery (Level 2B)
• Schedule: 36 hours per week, nights and every other weekend (EOW)
• Shift Details:

  • Day rotate shifts (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a) with 1 night of call
  • Evening and night shifts do not rotate
• Patient Ratio:

  • Labor & Delivery (L&D): 1:2-3 for evaluations, 1:1 for active labor, magnesium gtt, or epidural
  • Postpartum (PP): 1:3-4
• Unit Description: 25-bed unit including L&D, postpartum, newborn nursery, 2 operating rooms, 2 antepartum rooms, and recovery room
• Patient Population: Mothers, babies, and laboring patients
• Average Daily Census: 15-25 patients
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: EPIC

Required Experience & Skills

• Specialty: RN in Special Care Nursery / Newborn Care
• Minimum Years of Experience: 3 years (with at least 2 years NICU experience)
• Floating: Not required
• Rotating Shifts: Required for day shifts as described above

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA preferred
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA preferred

Required Qualifications & Documentation

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Newborn Care
• At least 2 years of Nursery experience, including Nursery experience within the last year
• Experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• No floating required.
• No rotating shifts for evenings and nights.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with a strong background in NICU and special care nursery settings, comfortable working night shifts and every other weekend, and who meet the detailed credentialing and health requirements.
