Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment

Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Work Schedule: Full Time

Job Summary

Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a medical-surgical setting with recent orthopedic experience.
Utilize the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
Manage psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administer medications and treatments following protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
Minimum of 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience within the last year
Recent orthopedic nursing experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

This role involves backfilling a medical-surgical orthopedic position.
Must meet applicable nursing competencies related to leadership and clinical practice standards.
