Registered Nurse - ICU Travel Position

Location: Kennewick, Washington
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit and Facility Overview

Medical ICU unit on the 2nd floor
14 beds with a patient ratio of 1:2 (charge nurse free of patients)
Patient population primarily includes sepsis, respiratory cases, some cardiac and trauma
Equipment used includes IABP (intra-aortic balloon pump) occasionally
Electronic Health Record system: Paragon
Shift: 7:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekend hours: every other weekend
Call requirements: none
Weekly guaranteed hours: 20

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Washington Suicide Prevention
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Must enjoy working as part of a team and be committed to best practices
Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Patient Care Focus

Care for critically ill patients with sepsis, respiratory issues, cardiac conditions, and trauma
Medical ICU environment with minimal cardiac cases

Pros

This Cath Lab is only travelers at the moment and has locum doctors on rotation. Some days are very slow but there is also a couple IR doctors who does some easy procedures.

Cons

On call is currently 7 consecutive days on then you get 4 days off before going back on due to number of staff present.
