Registered Nurse (NICU) - Travel Position

Location: Reno, Nevada
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide comprehensive nursing care in a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Deliver optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of neonatal patients. Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals and support families/caregivers as part of the care process.

Work Schedule

• Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours guaranteed weekly)
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• Required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
• May be required to float within the organization up to competency level
• Employer may cancel shifts with 48 hours’ notice due to low census

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada
• Minimum 3 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Ventilator training
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

• Position requires intensive continuous mental effort for safe patient care and decision-making
• Provides care to neonatal patients in a high-acuity environment
• The facility is a Level II Trauma Center with advanced technologies and specialized services in the region
• May involve working with state-of-the-art equipment and procedures specific to neonatal care
