Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Description

• Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU): 4-bed unit focused on adult and geriatric patients recovering post cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical procedures requiring critical care. Emphasis on complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
• Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU): 8-bed stepdown unit caring for patients recovering after cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery.
• Both units supported by a cardiovascular educator and emphasize a patient-centered approach in a safe, secure environment.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Holidays as required.
• Every other weekend required.
• 36 or 48 hours per week available; 36 hours guaranteed.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
• Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
• Patient-facing clinical position.
• Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech.
• Parking available.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), with CVICU experience within the last year.
• Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

• Timesheet approver roles assigned (primary and backup).
• Clinical role, not remote.
