Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location

  • Lafayette, Indiana

Employment Type

  • Travel assignment

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Unit Overview

  • Unit Type: ICU, Med Surg, ER, Level III NICU
  • Number of Beds: 160
  • Staff: Approximately 28 total; Day shift staffed with 5-6 minimum, Night shift staffed with 4-4.5 minimum
  • Patient Ratios: RVU system
  • Shift Schedule: 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, 36 hours per week
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • Call Requirements: None

Equipment and Technology

  • Ventilators: PB, Drager V500, Hamilton C transport, Oscillator, Jet
  • Other Respiratory Equipment: Aerogon’s, V60 Bipap, Heated High Flow Nasal Cannula (HHFNC), Nitric oxide delivery
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
  • Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Preferred Attributes

  • Ability to manage heavy patient loads and high acuity cases
  • Independent, self-motivated, and willing to assist with higher acuity patients
  • Willingness to work and train in Level III NICU environment
