Job Description
- Role: RN - Labor and Delivery
- Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Call Requirements: No call required
- Weekend Requirements: 4 weekend shifts per scheduling period
Unit Information
- Number of Beds:
- 12 Labor and Delivery beds
- 5 Ante Partum beds
- 4 OBED beds
- 3 OR Rooms
- Number of Staff: 72 (including nursing, CST, and schedulers)
- Patient Ratios: 1:2 and 1:1 based on transition and acuity
- Type of Equipment: Alaris Pumps, CADD epidural pumps
- EMR: CPN and Meditech
Hiring Profile
Required Skills
- Certifications:
- CST
- Current certification in Advance EFM/AWHONN Intermediate EFM
- Experience:
- At least 2 years in High Risk OB for CST
- At least 3 years in High Risk OB for RNs
Preferred Skills
- Experience with High Risk OB including massive transfusion
- Experience with PASD (placenta accrete spectrum disorders)

- C-sections
- SVD (Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery)
- D&C (Dilation and Curettage)
- D&E (Dilation and Evacuation)
- Twin deliveries (both C-section and SVD)
- Scheduled and nonscheduled emergent C-Hysterectomy
- Massive Transfusion

- Scrub Color: CST sky blue scrubs

- Unit Recognition:
- Main ED Level II Trauma serving obstetrical patients with Level I and Level II injuries
- Maternal Designation Level III and Neonatal Level II
- Joint Commission accredited in Women’s Health
- Work Environment:
- Self-scheduling among team members
- Highly engaged and team-oriented staff
- Good mix of tenured staff and newer nurses
- Strong physician-staff relationships
- Engaged management team that rounds on night shifts and weekends
